A star would shine forever
A long time ago and very far away, Miki, Polar Bear and Penguin lived in a place that was always cold and dark.
On Midwinter’s Eve their wish comes true and a little tree appears. But keeping the fairy lights twinkling takes more energy than either Penguin or Polar Bear can muster.
Adapted from the book by acclaimed artist Stephen Mackey, MIKI is the story of an Inuit child who goes on an extraordinary midwinter adventure.
MIKI builds on Slot Machine’s 2010/11 sell-out adaptation of Nick Butterworth’s Percy the Park Keeper– ONE SNOWY NIGHT – which sold out over a five week run.
Slot Machine’s quirky style with intricate puppetry, off-beat humour, original music and simple but beautiful theatrical moments keeps even the picky older siblings happy - and has parents and grandparents coming back for more. MIKI is a feast for the senses for 3 to 6 year olds of all abilities.
Miki is a beautiful, million-selling book by a well-known fine artist. Commissioned from Slot Machine by Fresh Glory Productions & Norden Farm following the huge success of One Snowy Night last Christmas, this adaptation has underwater scenes, a giant polar bear, an even bigger giant octopus.
Like ONE SNOWY NIGHT, MIKI will be jammed with music, songs and lots of silliness.
